We about us
The Institute of Applied Ecology was founded in 1985 by Dr. Ulrich Schwevers and is located in Kirtorf-Wahlen in the Vogelsberg region in the center of Hessen. It is run by experts with interdisciplinary know how. A branch of the Institute is located at Geesthacht close to Hamburg at the river Elbe.
Based of long lasting experiences, various professional contacts in Germany and abroad as well as the collaboration within scientific projects we have achieved an immense specific knowledge in different disciplines.
Our main competence lies on fresh water ecology and fish ecological science. This is important on behalf of the background of different European resolutions especially getting more important on the engineering aspect
Based on detailed oriented outdoor investigations we are able for example to accumulate and analyze the environmental status. This is used for a manifestation of meaningful protection and redevelopment concepts. We work competently on behalf of landscape ecological questions, and we establish local as well as oversized planning for a management on biological diversity.
